Music Monday: Dixie Chicks - Lullaby

Start your day and start your week with a positive message.  Move, groove, and let a positive beat lift you up and get you in a good head space for a good week.

This week is Thanksgiving up in Canada, and as the nights are getting longer and the days are getting shorter it seems like a perfect time to take a moment for gratitude of what is, what was, and what is yet to be.  2017 marked ten years since my mom died, and songs that moms are singing specifically to their little ones give me a special invitation to think of and remember how loved I was by her and how loved I still feel by her.  I can imagine all the lovely moms singing this lullaby to their babies, and during a week of gratitude I wanted to start it out with a sweet ballad for the special love between mother and child.  When the Dixie Chicks sing, "How long do you wanna be loved? Is forever enough, is forever enough cause I'm never ever ever giving you up" I can imagine all the moms whispering that unconditional love to their little ones.  This year also marked new motherhood for several of my closest friends and family, and I have had so much gratitude to be able to watch them transition into being moms and being so filled up with the love and joy that brings.

What does this song bring up for you?  I'd love to hear how it resonated with you in the comments below.  If you have a song you'd like featured on Music Mondays send me the link on my contact page
