Well Hello There
Thank you for stopping in to my website
For whatever reason you've decided to stop by, I think the best place to start is with an introduction from me. I'm Talia Camozzi and I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor with my main office situated in Revelstoke, BC. I also see clients online who live outside my community which I have found to be just as therapeutic and transformative. My newest offer is an online group called Equilibrium by Some Way Development where we are all about implementing simple pieces of wisdom to add more magic to your life. I also love writing, public speaking about mental health, and going deep into the emergent research in the field of psychology.
I grew up in the same mountain town where I am blessed to call home again, and as a young person I was blessed to be surrounded by a large, Italian family and the beautiful mountains that circle the town. Even as a young person though my life was touched with illness, and through many stays at hospitals and the Ronald McDonald House I was exposed to the many unfair hardships that people have to endure. I was also exposed to the beauty of the human spirit, and I learned that pain can not only be endured but it can also lead us to unexpected treasures.
One of those treasures for me was a seed of deep acceptance of all people that was planted within me as a little girl.
My love of people expanded over the years, and in 2010 I made the choice of becoming a counsellor. A little over 2 years later I had completed a Master's of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I began by working in Child and Youth Mental Health as well as doing a Sexual Abuse Intervention Program before transitioning into private practice.
I still see young people in my private practice, and I think there is something so uniquely special about the childhood and teenage years. I do not dismiss what young people are going through as a phase or as angst, but as important crossroads in their lives that they deserve gentle, kind, compassionate counselling to get through.
I also see people of all ages, and I believe that variety is the spice of life so I have had the pleasure of counselling parents with young children, people who are in their retirement years, and people of all ages in between.
I have a special interest in working with people who are highly sensitive, highly ambitious and have experienced trauma. These people exist in all demographics and are sometimes men looking to deepen their relationships and self love, women in business looking to create a better work/life balance, teenagers with bold dreams for their future, people of all ages who have experienced a major loss, or people who are ready to thrive in their life but are unsure how to get from where they are to where they want to be.
My sister has told me that I take a radically gentle approach to therapy, and I have to agree with her. My therapeutic style is gentle, accepting, and holistic in nature. I take great care to honor all aspects of you: mind, body and spirit and my training in somatic practices reflect that belief. In a nutshell, somatic practice means bringing the body’s knowledge into our therapy sessions. What the body is communicating is just as important as what the mind is communicating, and together we can start listening in to what your body is saying. The style of somatic work I practice is entirely hands-off.
From experience I know that deep, lasting, and transformational healing is both of our goals in therapy. It is my intention to create a space for you that is safe, warm, welcoming, and sacred. A space where you can explore all aspects of your life and ultimately
